Routine is something that can help us to maintain a daily life. We make it in the morning to make our daily life happier and stress less, but we often forget to make a nighttime routine for our better sleep.

But why is the nighttime routine essential?
After hustling all day, we deserve a very peaceful night. If we create a nighttime routine which will help us to improve our sleep-wake cycle and reduce stress.

There is something called the body clock that says certain things happen in regular periods, your body gets ready when the time draws near. This is especially true for sleep. Your body clock is very sensitive about sleeping time and if you miss it, your sleep quality will reduce as well as you will need more sleeping time to fully rest. A nighttime routine regulates your body and helps you to get the best from your sleeping time.

Set a consistent bedtime

If you are creating a particular time for going to bed, It will always make you consistent.

Minimize screen time

Try not to use your phone or laptop 1 hour before sleeping. Distractions most of the time.
The screen time people spend daily keeps increasing in recent years. It keeps people awake till late hours. People waste important resting hours while looking at their screen. For a healthy sleep, it’s advised not to stay awake till late hours while looking at the screen.

Create a comfortable sleep environment

Having a cozy bed makes you feel sleepy. That’s why make yourself a comfy sleep environment.

Meditation

Meditation is a good practice to reduce daily stress. The piled stress in the daytime, affects our sleep quality at night. It would be best to meditate half an hour before going to bed. It only increases your sleep quality a bit, but it also helps you to sleep more easily as well.

Drink some tea

Some herbal teas like chamomile, lavender contain compounds that promote sleep.
Many sorts of teas help people to get calm and ease the mind. Drinking a cup of herbal tea an hour before going to bed, will help your body get better sleep. Tea has chemicals that ease the mind. To improve your sleeping experience, it’s advised to drink tea for a good night’s sleep.

Take warm bath

A warm bath is a medical practice since the medieval ages to cure diseases. It’s known for relaxing the muscles in the body and makes people sleep more easily. A more soothing bath would be resting in a bathtub filled with warm water mixed with bath salts. Maybe it’s not something that can be practiced daily but it’s a great counter weapon against tiredness and stress after a long hard day’s work. You will sleep like babies in bed.

Hydrate yourself

It’s often forgotten to consume a necessary amount of water in the daytime and it affects our health negatively. In those days, we should use the night time to our advantage and drink water to balance the humors in the body. The lack of water causes headaches, stomach pain, dry skin and many more problems which will disturb us when we go to sleep. It is advised by doctors to drink 2 litres of water everyday.
